Week 16 Totals Are In

This week as a team we had a total of 198.25 miles, to make a total of 3630.62, which leaves 1680.38 left out of the original 5311 miles. We are getting there slowly but shortly.

The Lowrys and the Beatleys had another yardsale yesterday. Thank you so very much for everybody who donated items for us to sell. I think it is phenominal that we made just under $1300 over two yard sales. We are still working hard to get the needed funds by May so we can order our plane tickets. I am out of town this week, but when I return we have some other ideas we are working on....

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter today. It is one I won't soon forget, my youngest son was baptized today...he was the last of our family to take this huge step, it is awesome. Our God is awesome, and we belong to an awesome family of Christ followers!

Have a blessed week!

Week 15 totals are in...only 2 weeks to go (officially)

Our totals this week are 196.76 miles which gives us a total of 3432.37 miles walked and 1878.63 miles left to go. With only 2 weeks left, we obviously aren't going to make the deadline, but we will continue to walk.

Today we celebrated our church's 20-year reunion and it was a wonderful day. I am so humble and grateful to belong to a family such as this.

I am going to keep this post short since it is late and I have to get up early for work tomorrow and get rolling on my work for the week since I am only working 3 days and then I will have 11 days off. I am very excited.

Please continue to pray for our team who is heading to Romania.

Week 14 totals are in...ON TIME I might add

Well, for a change I am posting this on Saturday like I originally had promised. This week our total is 162.92 miles brings us now to 3235.61 miles. A combination of rain, work schedules, and busy lives keep us from getting to our goal, but don't give up on us....we are still walking for this great cause.

God is definitely teaching me patience during this phase of trying to earn money for this trip. He is definitely SHOWING me in many ways that no matter how hard I try, I am not earning this money, He is definitely in control and the money is coming in a little at a time....in His time, and I am so grateful for what I am seeing from Him.

We went to a block party today in Concord and I had the best time...I just want to go back again tomorrow. For some reason I am drawn to the quiet, withdrawn kids who don't talk or want to eat or play....there were 2 today...1 girl and 1 boy...they were the last 2 I talked to before I left...and the when I shook the boys' hand...he hugged me...oh he was so sweet and I hope he still remembers my name when I come back next month...I won't forget his. He looked either sad or scared or a little of both and I just wanted to hold him and tell him everything is going to be all right. I was surprised at how when asked "How can you get to Heaven", one of the older girls responded and said "being good"....I've heard that people around the world have never heard of Jesus or what his dying on that cross did for us if we believe in Him, but I don't think I have ever seen it first hand....and I didn't have to go around the world to see it - it's in our own backyard. These beautiful children have formed a bond of friendship...the older ones look out for the younger ones...the younger ones look up to the older ones....and for a few hours....we tried to feed them, love them, and show them how looking up to our Heavenly Father is the way to Heaven. TODAY...made Romania feel real for me, TODAY....made me want to tell kids here in Cabarrus County, here in NC, here in the USA...and EVERYWHERE about Jesus and what He did for them, for me....for you! YES - Jesus loves us.....

I apologize for getting off topic...I am on this supernatural high and I just want everybody to know how amazingly God works through all of us!!

Please continue to pray for us over the next 3 weeks that we will get the necessary funds so we can purchase our tickets on May 1st. Please pray for those of us who need to figure out passports and all of the other fun stuff it takes to get us there...and please pray that no matter what...God will show up in our words and open doors to bring more people to His Kingdom. He is coming soon...Are you ready?

Week 13 totals are in

It is becoming a normal occurence that we (I guess I should say I) post our totals late, but it has been a crazy busy few weeks as you can tell my our totals for last week. I apologize for the delay in posting, with the yard sale and all-dayers at church and the great celebration we had Sunday night since my youngest, Jeremy, accepted Jesus as his Savior, I have been a bit preoccupied...throw in trying to plan his birthday party, a trip to VA over Spring Break, working, and trying to recruit nursery volunteers for our great church, I have had little spare time!!! But alas, here are our totals - please keep in mind that we had a lot of raining last week and we were all pretty busy preparing for the yard sale - the total for the week was 173.6 miles for a grand total now of 3072.69 miles.....we are still behind, but we won't be defeated!! We will complete the miles! We are getting closer and have walked more miles than we are missing, as of last Friday night, we only had 2239 miles left to go!!!

On another note, we had our 2nd Romania Missions trip meeting and got to meet one of the people who will be going with us. He seemed very nice and had a ton of great information to give to us! I am excited and scared all at the same time. James and Randall are the only ones in our group that has never been on a plane before, this just might be interesting.....We also had our yard sale and split the earnings between our 4 families. We did pretty well! Please keep praying for us as we come near the time when our funds are due for the airfare. Thank you for all of your support!

We chose the basket raffle name today.......

..............and the winner is Michaela Rohrbach from Leesburg, VA. I am going up to VA in a couple of weeks and will take her prize(s) to her! Thank you to everybody who donated to the basket itself and also to those of you who donated money to purchase raffle tickets.

We will have our updated miles later tomorrow, however, with all of the rain we have had this past week, we will probably be short again this week...but we won't stop walking!

Thank you for your continued support and prayers.
